A centuries-old technique, Parquetry Timber Flooring has been used to create stunning and hard wearing patterned floors everywhere from churches and important buildings to sports arenas, homes and hotel lobbies. These are essentially timber tiles and the patterns available are endless.
The colour palate is essentially the same as T&G flooring although not produced in all species and the grading is generally medium feature and low feature see “Grading Timber Floor”. The size of the tiles is generally 260 x 65 mm and 18 and 14 mm thick. The tiles are glued to any suitable sub-floor including concrete and once installed are sanded and polished in a similar manner to solid T&G flooring. Because parquetry blocks are solid timber of up to 19mm thick they are extremely durable and can be re-sanded and re-polished over and over again.
